How much Sun do I need to cook?

The Grill is designed to be preheated before use. Even overcast skies can build into a heated chamber ready to cook. Once heated, medium and large dishes will require at least partial Sun to continue cooking.

How do I know when my food is done?
Many foods will finish cooking when the internal temperature of the food hits near 212°F/100°C. This means that steam is a strong indicator of a dish's progress. Noticing smell is another easy and surprisingly intuitive way to judging your food's progress. Give it a couple tries and you'll be a pro.
      Is there a warranty?
The GoSun Grill comes with a Two-Year, "No-Questions-Asked" Warranty on the vacuum cooking chamber. This cooking tube is made of borosilicate glass, and is extremely durable, much like other common forms of Pyrex ® cookware. If you have any troubles, we will send you a replacement tube FREE of charge to anywhere in the world... we just ask that you pay the associated shipping costs.

        Exceeded my very high expectations

I got this to use in my backyard or to take on picnics…it is bit big/heavy to carry round. I live in the Pacific NW and we don’t get a lot of sun and my back yard gets even less. I cooked bacon-wrapped chicken thighs. I preheated and then loaded the chicken. The sun disappeared after 30 minutes. I moved it (careful or you’ll burn your hand) to the sun and the sun disappeared again. After two hours in the shade I opened it up to throw away my chicken. My chicken was fully cooked and steaming hot. I’ve cooked bar cookies - they did wonderfully. The metal pans clean up very easily. I’m really pleased I purchased this stove…I like it!!

        Best fish ever...

Cooks the best most succulent moist fish ever...fat halibut cheeks, salmon steaks...the good thing is I can smell exactly when the fish is ready. Also cooked great layered lasagna, game hen, meat loaf, all types of veggies, biscuits. Super use of our great star, the sun!

        Exceeds expectations!

Living 9,000 feet (2,727 M) above sea level, and at 40 degrees north latitude I had high hopes for my GoSun Grill. It arrived in January, when the temperature outside seldom gets above freezing. This time of year, the sun is not very high in the sky. I couldn't open the reflectors all the way and maintain the proper orientation to the sun, so I propped up one side of the grill with some of the packing material it was shipped in - viola, fully opened AND oriented directly toward the sun. Then at 24 degrees fahrenheit (about -4 C) I started - cooking diced potatoes, and a whole Cornish Hen. Wow - in about an hour, I had a very tasty hot lunch for two. Since then, I've baked a loaf of french bread - just leave the pans out, and place parchment paper on the bottom of the tray. This was an especially interesting task - the wind was blowing so hard outside, that I set up the oven in the window of an upstairs bedroom. Perfect. I also have a pair of silicone baking pans that I plan to use - just for entertainment - no idea if there will be any situations where the silicone pans are better than the stainless pans - maybe for baking cakes. This stove is simply amazing!
